The Road to Skibbereen is an award-winning new play written
by and featuring ex-Brookside actress, Angela Walsh. It tells the warm, funny, brave story of Lianna,
a young woman with a learning disability, and her devoted mother, Nora. When Nora develops early-onset Alzheimer’s,
we share Lianna’s battle to understand and cope as her role changes from the cared-for
to the carer.
Based on
events in her own family and her experiences in working with people with
learning difficulties, Angela hopes the play will help to raise awareness of
early-onset dementia and of the special challenges faced by those carers who
are, themselves, in need of care.

Proposal
We would
like to offer your organisation discount tickets at £5 each. These could then
be sold-on to supporters at a higher price (top-price tickets are £9.50) in
order to raise funds. An exclusive post-play discussion session with the
writer, director and actors is included in the offer and will make the event an
extra-special occasion for your group.
The show is
at 2:15 pm every day from 10th to 25th August at
C venues
at Adam House on Chambers
Street (Venue 34). The offer is available for any weekday performance (Mon-Fri)
and you may book on one date or several to suit your membership. You may also
book as many or as few tickets as you wish, space permitting, although the post-show
discussions are available only to groups of 10+.
